Former Target Bennett Moves On

Former Crewe target Julian Bennett has moved from Walsall to Nottingham Forest for £250,000. Bennett had caught the eye of Crewe scouts following a run of good form roughly one year ago but it was eventually decided that the defender was not dominant enough and was too error prone. Colin Murdock was instead signed.

Another player Crewe looked at, Matty Fryatt, has also left Walsall. Fryatt has joined Leicester for £750,000. Crewe looked at Fryatt as a potential replacement for Dean Ashton but the club decided the striker was not worth the fee they were asking for at the time.
